Craft Tutorial #4 - Wire Swirls
Craft Tutorial #4 - DazzlingWire Swirls
Make your own wire embelishments to make this stunning Wire Swirl Card
What You Need:
Adhesive rhinestones
Tri Fold card- each panel 11.5×11.5 with cut out square 5cmx5cm in middle panel
or use a square border with 5cmx5cm cut out square with any card
Black card 6.5×6.5
Double sided tape
Pliers- round nose, flat or chain nose and wire cutters
The swirls will be attached to the card by the 2 ends of the swirl being bent backwards so that they can be inserted into holes in the card
Step 1-Cut 12cm wire
Bend 2cm from the end (this is your first bent piece that will insert into the top of the black card)

Step 2-Place the short bent wire parallel with your round nose pliers so that the wire is running along the jaw of the plies, the tip of your round nose pliers is level with the where the bend is

Step 3-Using your fingers bring the long wire around the tip of the pliers making a complete loop

Step4-Grasp this loop with flat nose pliers and do a loose coil
Approx 2-3 times around

Step 5 -Put a curve in the tail of the swirl- see example for the direction of the curves

Step6-Bend the last 1-2cm of the stem back ( this will go into the hole at the bottom of your black card)
Make sure the swirls are no longer than 4.5cm not including the bent back wire
Do 4 more swirls, they can vary in length and size-see example as a guide

Step7-Arrange the swirls to see where the swirls will sit on the black card. Make sure the bottom wires are aligned with each other. And are at least 1cm from the edge
Make sure you leave at least 8mm to 1cm border around the swirls
If you need to make any of the swirls shorter just cut the end and make a new bend at the bottom
Put a pen mark where the holes should go for each of the bent back wires (2 for each swirl)
Step8-Using a pin pierce each pen mark making a hole for the wires. Put the swirls on one at a time

Step9-Push down each of the wires sticking out the back of the black card

Step10- On the back of the white card place double sided tape around the inside edges of the cut out square
Turn the white card over and position it on top of your black card with the swirls and press down to stick

Step11-With the inside of card facing you, using double sided tape around the edges of middle panel and fold down the left side of the card over the middle panel of the card and stick so you cover the back of the black card. You now have a bi fold card

Step12-Place adhesive rhinestones along the back of each swirl near the top. In the example there is a large one at the top then a medium then small . For the smaller swirls there is only 2 used a medium and small

Step13-You can use put short message on one of the corners by using a stamp or writing with an embossing pen or using a sticker . You can add a small rhinestone for extra touch.
