Ferngully are proud to announce that we have been appointed an official distributer of “docrafts“ creativity. This exciting new project range direct from England includes a comprehensive range of co-ordinated tools, papers and embellishments all designed to compliment each other and linked into the exclusive docraft Bi-monthly magazine all available from Ferngully as of mid December 2009.

Craft Tutorial #14-Butterfly Tri-Fold
What you need:All items available at Fern Gully Stamps
Metallic blue card- 20cm x11cm
Scrap Metallic blue card for butterfly cut out
Decorative Paper- silver and blue -2 pieces that measure 5cm x 4cm
Scrap silver and blue decorative paper for butterfly cut out
Silver ribbon 5mm wide
Double sided foam
Adhesive
Rhinestones

step 1- Use this butterfly template or draw one of your own,trace it onto the scrap metallic blue card

Step 2-Cut the butterfly shape out

Step 3- Trace a smaller version on the butterfly onto the back of the decorative silver and blue paper and cut it out. tip -to get an even butterfly, draw one half of it and fold along the middle of the butterfly then cut out.

Step 4- Cut this butterfly in half and remove the centre by cutting a small piece from the inside of each half.

Step 5- Using adhesive attach the the each side of the cut out paper onto the card butterfly and fold each side upward

Step 6- Add 3 Rhinestones to the centre of the butterfly

Step 7-Measure your blue metallic card- it should be 20cm x 11
Measure 5cm from the left edge and 5cm from the right edge and fold each side inward to make a fold card

Step 8-Use a scorer to make a nice fold

Step 8- Draw a soft line, horizontally across the card- Measure 5.5cm from the top of the card- this is where the ribbon will be

Step 9 - Make some slits along this line to thread your ribbon-Make the slits at least 5mm long to allow for the ribbon.The slits will be on the 2 front panels of the card. For each panel measure a few mm in from the edge and do 2 slits that are about 3mm apart from each other. Do this to each side of your panels so you end up with 8 slits altogether. 4 on each front panel. Pictured you can see just one of the front panels

Step 10- Thread your ribbon through these slits as shown

Step 11- Attach your 2 pieces of decorative paper to the front panels below the ribbon using adhesive or double sided tape

Step 12- Use double sided foam to attach your butterfly as shown. Option- you can also add another piece of decorative paper to the inside of the card- 4 x 10cm

Craft Tutorial#7 -Tri Shutter Card
This is one of the great projects from the Christmas in July Event. Although this example has a Christmas them it can be used for all sorts of Occasions
What you need- All items available at Fern Gully Stamps
white Card- 30cm (12″) x 15cm (6″)
2 different matching decorative papers-cut as follows-
Decorative Paper One-
2 at 14.5cm x 4.5cm or Inches- 5¾” x 1¾”
4 at 3.5cm x 4.5cm or Inches 1′x 1¾”
1 at 6.5cm x 9.5cm or Inches 3¼” x 3¾”
Decorative Paper Two-
2 at 6.5cm x 4.5cm or Inches 3¼”x 1¾”
2 at 3.5cm x 9.5cm or Inches 1″ x 3Adhesive
Double sided tape
2 or more Stamps
Stayz on Ink black
Colour pens or paint to decorate- optional
Rhinestones to decorate -optional
Embellishments - optional
Fiskars trimmer with scoring blade-see alternative below
Craft Knife or paper trimmer
Step 1-Score your 30cm x 15cm white card from top to bottom at 5cm from edge, 10cm, 20cm and 25cm. you can use a ruler and a scoring tool if you don’t have a fiskers Scorer 
Step 2
- Turn the card around and using a trimmer or craft knife, cut a slit between the 5cm and 25cm score lines, 4cm in. Do this on both sides

Step 3- Folding the card-
On the 5cm score line only fold the top and bottom as a mountain fold (not the middle, this does not fold)
On the 10cm score line fold the top and bottom as a valley fold and the middle as a mountain fold
On the 20cm score line fold the top and bottom as mountain folds and the middle as a valley

On the 25cm score line you fold the top and bottom as valley folds and do not fold the middle

Step 4-Now place your card down on the table and press firmly into place with the folds happening your card will fold into a normal A5 size card
Step 5- Decorate your decorative papers- 
Stamp your image using a dark coloured Stayz on ink onto white card

Step 6- Cut out the stamped image

Step 7- Using adhesive stick the cut out stamped image to one of the 14.5cm x 4.5cm decorative papers (side panel)

Step 8- Decorate the stamped image by colouring or adding rhinestones or glitter
Step 9- Stamp a message onto white card using a dark colour Stayz on ink, cut out using a trimmer & attach to the other14.5cm x 4.5cm decorative paper (side panel)
Step 10- You can add stamped images, embellishments to any of the decorative paper panels, as you can see the we have stamped directly onto 2 of the red decorative 6.5 x 4.5cm paper panels.

Step 11-Place double sided tape to the back of each of the decorative papers and attach them in place
As you can see in the examples pictured you can achieve many different looks for all sorts of occations
