Craft Tutorial#7 -Tri Shutter Card
This is one of the great projects from the Christmas in July Event. Although this example has a Christmas them it can be used for all sorts of Occasions
What you need- All items available at Fern Gully Stamps
white Card- 30cm (12″) x 15cm (6″)
2 different matching decorative papers-cut as follows-
Decorative Paper One-
2 at 14.5cm x 4.5cm or Inches- 5¾” x 1¾”
4 at 3.5cm x 4.5cm or Inches 1′x 1¾”
1 at 6.5cm x 9.5cm or Inches 3¼” x 3¾”
Decorative Paper Two-
2 at 6.5cm x 4.5cm or Inches 3¼”x 1¾”
2 at 3.5cm x 9.5cm or Inches 1″ x 3Adhesive
Double sided tape
2 or more Stamps
Stayz on Ink black
Colour pens or paint to decorate- optional
Rhinestones to decorate -optional
Embellishments - optional
Fiskars trimmer with scoring blade-see alternative below
Craft Knife or paper trimmer
Step 1-Score your 30cm x 15cm white card from top to bottom at 5cm from edge, 10cm, 20cm and 25cm. you can use a ruler and a scoring tool if you don’t have a fiskers Scorer 
Step 2
- Turn the card around and using a trimmer or craft knife, cut a slit between the 5cm and 25cm score lines, 4cm in. Do this on both sides

Step 3- Folding the card-
On the 5cm score line only fold the top and bottom as a mountain fold (not the middle, this does not fold)
On the 10cm score line fold the top and bottom as a valley fold and the middle as a mountain fold
On the 20cm score line fold the top and bottom as mountain folds and the middle as a valley

On the 25cm score line you fold the top and bottom as valley folds and do not fold the middle

Step 4-Now place your card down on the table and press firmly into place with the folds happening your card will fold into a normal A5 size card
Step 5- Decorate your decorative papers- 
Stamp your image using a dark coloured Stayz on ink onto white card

Step 6- Cut out the stamped image

Step 7- Using adhesive stick the cut out stamped image to one of the 14.5cm x 4.5cm decorative papers (side panel)

Step 8- Decorate the stamped image by colouring or adding rhinestones or glitter
Step 9- Stamp a message onto white card using a dark colour Stayz on ink, cut out using a trimmer & attach to the other14.5cm x 4.5cm decorative paper (side panel)
Step 10- You can add stamped images, embellishments to any of the decorative paper panels, as you can see the we have stamped directly onto 2 of the red decorative 6.5 x 4.5cm paper panels.

Step 11-Place double sided tape to the back of each of the decorative papers and attach them in place
As you can see in the examples pictured you can achieve many different looks for all sorts of occations

Craft Tutorial #7 Simple Spiral Earrings
What You Need-All Items available at Fern Gully Stamps
A ball point Pen that you can take ink out of (approx 5-10mm thick)
20 gauge wire
2 Ear hooks
2 head pins
2 beads
Colour Marker
Round nose pliers
Flat nose pliers
Wire Cutters
Step 1-Measure 2 lengths of 20cm of straight 20 gauge wire
Mark 6cm on each wire
Bend both wires at the 6cm mark at the same time 90 degree angle

Step 2-Place the short end inside the hole in the pen
Hold with you thumb and press the long side of the wire against the outside of the pen
Step 3-Keep holding firmly with your thumb as you pull the wire out to the side 
Step 4-Still holding the wire firmly with your thumb wrap the remaining wire around the pen


Step 5-Make sure the spiral is even
Remove the wires from the pen

Step 6-Very gently separate the wires

Hold them together they should be even, if not adjust them
Put a loop in the end of the straight wire
Place a bead onto a head pin, trim the wire 8mm from the bead and form a loop with round nose pliers- Click here to go to the Basic Loop Tutorial
Attach this bead to the loop on the straight wire
Finally attach an ear wire to the top where the wire bends
Craft Tutorial #6 - Dragonfly Card
Craft Tutorial #6- Dragonfly Punch Card
Make this beautiful Dragonfly card using the steps below. This technique can also be achieved using a Butterfly punch.
What You Need:
All items available at Fern Gully Stamps
Purple Card- 28cm x 14cm folded in half
Mat 1 -White Card-12.5cm x12.5cm
Mat 2- Purple Card (lighter shade) -10.5cm x10.5cm
Mat 3- Mauve Textured Paper- Stitched Swirls
Card for Dragonflies- Purple card(same shade as folded card)
Rhinestones- clear
Karl Medium Dragonfly Punch
Double sided tape
craft glue
Tweezers
Silver Greeting Sticker- optional

Step 1- Put double sided tape along the edges of the back of Mat 1 (white card). Remove the backing and center it on front of the folded purple card

Step 2- Place double sided tape along the edges of the back of Mat 2 (Purple Card.) Remove the backing of the tape

Step 3-Center Mat 2 on top of the white card.

Step 4 - Place double sided tape on the back of Mat 3 (textured paper). Remove the backing of the tape


Step 5- Center it on top of the purple card

Step 6-Punch out 12 Dragonflies using your Punch

Step 7- With the top of Dragonfly facing up apply glue to the Middle only. Not the wings

Step 8- Using tweezers Grasp one Dragonfly with the top facing upward.

Step 9- Carefully place it on top of the other Dragonfly so middle section of the two are attached.
Make another 4-5 double Dragonflies. Remember only glue the middle not the wings.

Step 10- Using tweezers, remove the smallest sized Rhinestone from the pack

Step 11-Carefully place the Rhinestones along the spine of the top, double Dragonfly.

Step 12- Put at lease 5 Rhinestones on each double Dragonfly

Step 13- You should have 4-5 Double Dragonflies with Rhinestones as well as 4-5 single plain Dragonflies.
Arrange your Dragonflies on top of the textured paper so you can plan where you will attach them. If you need to make more do so now. If you would like to add a greeting sticker, save a place for this as well.

Step 14-Using tweezers, pick up one of the Dragonfles and apply glue to the back of it , including the wings. Carefully place it in position on your card.

Step 15- Repeat for all other Dragonflies. Allow to dry.

Step 16-Sepearte the wings on each of the double Dragonflies by lifting them upwards.
Alternatively you could have all your dragonflies double if you wish. You could add glitter to the wings as well as the textured paper. You can achieve a similar effect using a butterfly punch.

Craft Tutorial #5- Transparent Stickers with Japanese papers-
Make Oriental style cards using the steps below
What You Need: All Items available
at Fern Gully Stamps.
A5 Card pink
Mat 1- Burgundy Card 11×7.5cm
Mat 2- green Card 10x 6.5cm
Paper with colourful, Japanese Patterns
Silver or Gold outlined transparent Stickers -Japanese Vases
Silve or Gold border stickers
Double sided tape

Step 1-Peel a Japanese Vase sticker off

Step 2-Place it onto the printed side of your patterned paper

Step 3- Carefully Cut around the outline of the sticker

Step 5- Fold your A5 pink card in half

Step 6-Place double sided tape around the edges of the back of Mat 1 , remove the backing on the tape

Step 7- Place Mat 1 onto the the front of your A5 folded card, centered

Step 8- Place double side tape around the edges of the back of Mat 2 and place it on top of Mat 1, Centered

Step 9-Put double sided tape onto the back of your cut out vase & remove the backing of the tape

Step 10- Place the Vase in the middle of Mat 2

Step 11- Carefully apply a silver or gold border sticker to the outside edges of Mat 2


Step 12- To finish place small silver or gold stickers to the top, bottom and sides of the A5 pink card.

Craft Tutorial #4 - DazzlingWire Swirls
Make your own wire embelishments to make this stunning Wire Swirl Card
What You Need:
Adhesive rhinestones
Tri Fold card- each panel 11.5×11.5 with cut out square 5cmx5cm in middle panel
or use a square border with 5cmx5cm cut out square with any card
Black card 6.5×6.5
Double sided tape
Pliers- round nose, flat or chain nose and wire cutters
The swirls will be attached to the card by the 2 ends of the swirl being bent backwards so that they can be inserted into holes in the card
Step 1-Cut 12cm wire
Bend 2cm from the end (this is your first bent piece that will insert into the top of the black card)

Step 2-Place the short bent wire parallel with your round nose pliers so that the wire is running along the jaw of the plies, the tip of your round nose pliers is level with the where the bend is

Step 3-Using your fingers bring the long wire around the tip of the pliers making a complete loop


Step4-Grasp this loop with flat nose pliers and do a loose coil
Approx 2-3 times around


Step 5 -Put a curve in the tail of the swirl- see example for the direction of the curves

Step6-Bend the last 1-2cm of the stem back ( this will go into the hole at the bottom of your black card)
Make sure the swirls are no longer than 4.5cm not including the bent back wire
Do 4 more swirls, they can vary in length and size-see example as a guide

Step7-Arrange the swirls to see where the swirls will sit on the black card. Make sure the bottom wires are aligned with each other. And are at least 1cm from the edge
Make sure you leave at least 8mm to 1cm border around the swirls
If you need to make any of the swirls shorter just cut the end and make a new bend at the bottom
Put a pen mark where the holes should go for each of the bent back wires (2 for each swirl)
Step8-Using a pin pierce each pen mark making a hole for the wires. Put the swirls on one at a time



Step9-Push down each of the wires sticking out the back of the black card

Step10- On the back of the white card place double sided tape around the inside edges of the cut out square
Turn the white card over and position it on top of your black card with the swirls and press down to stick


Step11-With the inside of card facing you, using double sided tape around the edges of middle panel and fold down the left side of the card over the middle panel of the card and stick so you cover the back of the black card. You now have a bi fold card


Step12-Place adhesive rhinestones along the back of each swirl near the top. In the example there is a large one at the top then a medium then small . For the smaller swirls there is only 2 used a medium and small


Step13-You can use put short message on one of the corners by using a stamp or writing with an embossing pen or using a sticker . You can add a small rhinestone for extra touch.

Craft Tutorial #3 -Daisy Punch Card
Make this stunning Card using 2-3 different sized Daisy punches enhanced by Rhinestones. You can do Daisy corners or fill in the entire area.
You can achieve the same technique using other shaped punches such as a Butterfly,Dragonfly or Angel
What You Need:
All items available at Fern Gully Stamps
2 White A5 Card. One of them to be folded in half
Sharp Card Cutting Knife
Ruler
Carl Daisy Punch –Large, Medium and Small-CP 1 and CP2
Kaser Self Adhesive Rhinestones
Adhesive
Tweezers
Grease proof Paper or Baking Paper
Step 1
Lay your baking paper down and work on top of that.
On the front of your folded A5 white card measure 11.5 x 5cm rectangle. Do this 1.5cm from the edge of the card
The rectangle in this example can be horizontal, across the bottom or vertical, closest to the right side of the card.
Using a ruler and a sharp Knife cut out the rectangle

Step 2
Punch out all 3 different sized Daisy’s. If you want a 2 Corner card, do 2 of each size. Use the left over card that you cut away

Step 3
Start with the largest Daisy. Apply adhesive to the tips of 4 of petals

Step 4
Place the Daisy, adhesive side down to the inside of one corner of the rectangle

Step 5
Using the medium Daisy apply adhesive to 4-5 of the petals and place it partly on top of the large Daisy and partly on top of the border, inside the rectangle

Step 6
Do the same with the small Daisy, place this on top, between the other Daisy’s

Step 7
Add a self adhesive rhinestone to the middle of each Daisy

You can use all the same sized rhinestones or you can use smaller ones for the smaller Daisy’s

Step 8
Repeat all the above steps for the opposite corner. It would look great for a photo. You could also do all 4 corners

or you can keep going and fill in the entire area with Daisys using the same technique. Make sure all Daisy’s overlap slightly

#2- Mothers Day Tulip Card with Marlene
Marlen Shows us how to Create a Beautiful Tulip Card just for MUM

What You Need:
All Items Available at Fern Gully Stamps
Small Balloon Punch CPI
Decal Scissors
Double Sided Tape
Coloured Card Stock for Tulips -2 colours -pale pink and purple
A5 Card Deep Purple-21cm x 15cm
Mat 1-Olive Card Stock 14cm x 9.5cm
Mat 2- Purple-Cloud paper 13.5cmx9cm
Adhesive - xyron tape runner
Happy Mothers Day Gold Sticker
Step 1
Punch out your balloon Shapes using the pale pink and purple Card
you can do 2 pink and 3 purple

Step 2-
Using your Decal Scissors cut the Bottom off your balloon
Step 3-
Using a marker draw 5 stems onto your purple cloud paper, spread them evenly across the paper. Draw some short and some long with a slight curve

Step 4- Fold your A5 Card in half

Step 5-
Attach double sided tape to the back of Mat 1-Olive card

Step 6-
Attach double sided tape to the back of mat 2-purple cloud
Remove the backing from the tape and attach the cards
Attach Mat 1 -olive onto one side of the the folded A5 Card, then attach Mat 2 -purple cloud on top

Step7-
Add Xyron tape runner adhesive to the back of the tulips

Step 8-
Stick your tulips to the top of each stem

Step 9-
Attach a gold Happy Mothers Day Sticker to the top corner of your card

Ready to give to mum

As shown on this card you can do more Tulips and overlap the Tulips. This one has 7. You can also adjust your mat sizes to have a thicker border

Craft Tutorial #1- Blending Chalks
#1 Blending Chalks
Creat softly blended images or words using this quick yet effective technique.
All products are available at Fern Gully Stamps 
What you need:
Versamark Ink Pad
Stamp
Blending Chalks
Cotton wool balls
Card stock

Step 1
Apply your VersaMark ink to your stamp

Step 2
Press the stamp firmly down onto your card

Step 3
Using a cotton wool ball rub the top part of the stamped image with one colour of the blending chalks
Step 4
Apply a different colour the middle of the image

Step 5
Apply another colour to the bottom of the image

Step 6
Using a cotton wool ball chalk around the outside edges of the card
Now it is ready to mount onto a card of your choice
You could add more chalked images to the inside and back of the card as well
